Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Set to Soar vision?
Set to Soar is Weston Christian Academy’s long-term vision roadmap to secure a unified campus that can serve students from K3 through 12th grade, strengthening the school’s ability to partner with families and churches in developing Christ-centered leaders.
Why is WCA pursuing a new campus?
Over the past several years, enrollment demand has continued to grow, and many families have expressed a strong desire for their children to continue their education at WCA through high school.
At the same time, currently there is no Christian covenant school in Southwest Broward offering a full K3–12 educational experience rooted in biblical truth and academic excellence. Weston Christian Academy has a unique opportunity to meet that need.
A larger campus would allow the school to expand its programs while preserving the Christ-centered academic environment that defines the WCA experience and provide families in Southwest Broward with a place where students can grow in faith, knowledge, and character from early childhood through graduation.
What opportunity is currently being explored?
A 47-acre property on Griffin Road in Southwest Ranches has recently become available that closely aligns with the criteria outlined in the Set to Soar roadmap.
The Weston Christian Academy School Board has authorized the school to enter into a purchase contract for the property, subject to a 45-day due diligence period, effective March 10, and the successful completion of the financial commitments necessary to secure the land.
How would this property support WCA’s plans for a high school?
In addition to providing space for WCA’s long-term vision, the current building on the property would enable Weston Christian Academy to begin a high school program planned for the fall of 2027, while future campus planning and development continue.
What happens during the due diligence period?
During this time, the school and its advisors will carefully evaluate several key factors, including:
-
Development feasibility
-
Municipal approvals and zoning considerations
-
Environmental and site assessments
-
Financial sustainability
-
Alignment with the school’s long-term mission
This process ensures that any decision made is thoughtful, responsible, and in the best interest of the Weston Christian Academy community.
Does purchasing the property mean construction will begin immediately?
Not necessarily. Securing the property would represent the first step in a multi-phase process.
After land acquisition, the school would move into planning and design phases before construction begins. The timing of each step will depend on the progress of fundraising and the careful planning required for a project of this scale.
What happens if the property ultimately proves not to be viable?
The due diligence process is designed to ensure that Weston Christian Academy makes wise decisions. If the property does not meet the necessary criteria or if the required commitments cannot be secured, the school will prayerfully evaluate next steps and continue pursuing the long-term vision outlined in the Set to Soar roadmap.
How can families support the Set to Soar vision?
The most important first step is prayer. We invite our community to pray that God would provide wisdom, clarity, and provision as Weston Christian Academy evaluates this opportunity.
We invite families and supporters to prayerfully consider how they might partner in the Set to Soar vision. If you would like to learn more or explore giving opportunities, please contact Advancement@MyWCA.org and someone from our leadership team will be in touch with you within 24 hours.
